"Sacrificing requires a push comes to shove. A sacrifice is a reality when it’s well thought. You don’t donate a melting ice cream neither do you donate your eyes when asked for. You do your research. You weigh the sides. You draw the coin. You are essentially- not your parents. They textbook- sacrificed. You are just idle."

It's funny, because just today my mother was telling me stories about her childhood and how many sacrifices her parents made to make sure their children grew up to have comfortable lives, and how many she has made to make sure I can be as idle as I want to be. Someday, maybe, I'll make sacrifices for somebody without thinking twice.

I think we both need to become mothers to feel that, be what our parents were. Nothing is as selfless as a parent and maybe even as selfish as them, because a lot of their sacrifices carry the notion as to how Shiv Kumar Batalvi puts it across- investment karke return ka sochte hain, sacrifice karke future ke fal ka....
