I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring
Happy New year, let's? & Photo collage attack
I heard my mother advice me last year, this time, as new beginnings hover above and people like me, walk out to find things to learn, know, see, experience, but mother says it right- Become more silent
. Do you see the Earth shouting? shivering? bouncing saliva off as they revolve just a tad bit more, or increase their speed because humans suck the life out of it? (If you feel gloomy bums ever, thinking that you are the center piece for every malady, watch this Youtube video, the best 29 minutes of your life.
NO. We don’t. We have been seeing Earth, being habitable for nearly four billion years despite being brought to the brink by mass extinctions, Ice Ages, million gazillion events, asteroids, quakes, etc. The extraordinary fact remains that our home planet has somehow managed to remain continuously habitable for the past three to four billion years – long enough for single-celled life forms to evolve into human beings.
The Earth has stayed silent, the planets too. Most of which is not Human, does. Silence, boredom, bad/sad days, all the negativities are windows of opportunities for a long lasting surprise, something to look forward to. The Earth has been angry, burning, cooling, ice, fire. That does give me a little hope that this isn’t Hanya Yanagihara’s ‘little life’ (The bookstagram community went all tears with this explosive read, which I have not yet finished), but a lasting one. The plastics can try. If the Earth could survive all those things which we aren’t even aware of, what is even human? Earth is, what earth does.
Maybe that’s why when I wrote this title, after reading this Article which headbangs -What more than being an Earth-size planet in the habitable zone does it take to harbor life? What is really so special here at our Earth and in our solar system? Maybe it is because of the chance which was not missed, in disparity and doom. Maybe the Earth was dying in a solar pandemic like how are fellows are, today, but somehow it got vaccinated- don’t know if its because our world orbits the sun at just the right distance or the protective Magnetic Field?
And after THIS Article , I got to know about Tom Hanks’s book (My dear Readers, if you want, can give you the pdf version of this book, just yell). Yes, a book written by God’s very own hands, not about him through some chip chip.

Dear Reader,
Instead of deleting the draft I wrote before it was 2021, i am going to show you two versions of me.
Draft 1: I hope you watch Russian Doll and are listening to the starting track as the clock chimes 12 in the midnight on 31st December. And it will be 2021. Can you believe it? It feels surreal but I have decided to hide my feelings well now.
It’s easier to hide here. In middle of a stack.
Draft Reality: I hope you had a good start of the year, 2021. The more I write odd numbers, the more I feel out of sync. It’s the same with the Tv Remote. I can’t keep a channel on an odd number or the volume at an odd number. I hope this year is hardly as odd as what 2020 was like. If the pandemic had impacted me directly like it did many who aren’t here to tell it all by themselves, I would be saying something otherwise.
I read -We’re Not Ranking Our Year-End List Anymore. Here’s What We’re Doing Instead and felt as if this would justify why my newsletter is the only one which is not doing lists and lists …..endless lists.
A deer sheds his antlers,
as I take my shoes off,
In my hands I carry,
a quarry of Ganymede
Lost times,
a Neelakurinji clocks it's calendar,
and then, two, three
fog walks on little cat feet,
and then it rains
- Shalini
(For the time when in January, it is raining in Delhi)
WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT?
Next up is a Newsletter, which you SHOULD NOT MISS OUT ON. It will be something just like this. (Been slogging, burning this idea of curating a difficult, lengthy List of things I learned in 2020. Would you like to read my learnings? Laugh at my mistakes?
Write back to me! I love to hear from you.
